How to Pack Your Items for Safe Posting
Wrap individually
Wrap each tape or reel in bubble wrap or a soft cloth. Items should not touch each other directly in the box.
Use a sturdy box
Place wrapped items in a rigid cardboard box with padding around all sides. Do not use soft envelopes for reels.
Label the box
Write your name clearly on the outside of the box so we can match it to your order immediately on arrival.
Use tracked postage
Send via Australia Post Parcel Post with tracking. Keep your tracking number until we confirm receipt by text.

How long does the conversion take?
Typically 1–2 weeks depending on the size of your order. We will text you when your items arrive and again when they are ready to be shipped back.
Do I get my original tapes and reels back?
Yes, absolutely. Your original tapes and reels are returned with your digital files or USB in the same parcel.
What tape formats do you convert?
VHS, VHS-C, MiniDV, Hi8, Video8, Betamax, and most camcorder tape formats. If you are unsure, text us on 0452 623 375 before ordering.
What reel formats do you convert?
We convert standard 8mm and Super 8 silent film reels in 3", 5" and 7" sizes. If your reel has a brown magnetic stripe along the edge it contains sound — please text us before ordering as sound reels require different handling.
What if a tape or reel is broken or damaged?
We are not liable for pre-existing damage. If a tape or reel requires repair before conversion, we will contact you with the additional repair fee before proceeding. Repair attempts do not guarantee a successful conversion.
What if a tape is blank or unplayable?
We do not charge for completely blank or unplayable tapes. If an item cannot be converted we will let you know and refund that portion of your order.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Do you charge GST?
No. VHS to Digital is not currently registered for GST. The price you pay is the total — no GST is added.
Can I send items from other states?
Yes — while this page is focused on Melbourne customers, we accept mail-in orders from anywhere in Australia.
